Pasted to the contents page is an ALS to J.Ardagh, Esq. from Albert Chevalier on Lyceum Theatre headed paper: ‘Dear Sir, Many thanks for your kind letter. In reply to your question, I have just completed an up to date autobiography, which will probably appear, shortly, in one of the London evening papers Yours truly, Albert Chevalier.’ Bound in at the rear a programme for a Lyceum Theatre production of a play ‘My Old Dutch’ by Chevalier and Arthur Shirley, based on Chevalier’s most famous song. Also pasted to the rear free endpaper an envelope containing a portrait postcard of Chevalier inscribed ‘Good Wishes. Yours sincerely Albert Chevalier’. Newspaper clippings regarding Mr Chevalier are pasted and loosely inserted among the rear endpapers. Pasted to the front free endpaper a print of Chevalier in riding gear. Spine faded, split in the centre and at the head, front cover spotted, hinges weak.
