Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: “Barbara from HW, Oct 1929”, with one of his characteristic small stylised owl sketches. An earlier owner has speculated that Barbara could be the unusually named Barbara Sincere and that she was a girlfriend of Williamson’s: we have no further information. Spine just a trifle faded, but an excellent copy.
