With the author’s later presentation inscription “for Robert & Virginia Vanderbilt on their marriage September 1952 from Anthony Powell.” Vanderbilt, one of the dynastic gilded age Vanderbilts, was in the 1950s a bookseller, with the Holliday bookshop on E. 54th Street.
Very minor wear to the board edges, but effectively a fine copy.
