A manuscript template for a decree of pardon for murder, used by the Spanish army in 1588. The heading describes it as being a draft for the pardon of ‘fulano’, ‘so-and-so’, for the murder of ‘fulano’, ‘so-and-so’, deliberately left anonymous in order that it could be copied and the names filled in as required.

Two circular holes resulting from the removal of the seals.
