BELL'S FIRST MAJOR WORK
Gertrude Bell’s first major work, describing a period of travel in Palestine, Jordan and Syria. Starting in 1905, her wanderings took her through Jerusalem, Jericho, Amman, Damascus, Homs, Hama and ancient Aleppo and Antioch, before reaching a terminus at Alexandretta. The first edition is quite uncommon.
