A collection bringing together Harrod’s principal early career articles, particularly focusing on the subjects of imperfect competition and the the theory of the firm. ‘Harrod was an originator of the marginal revenue curve, clarified the relation between short-period and long-period cost curves, and helped to develop the theory of pricing and output decisions of imperfectly competitive producers, that is, those that are in some degree ‘price-making’. His papers on these topics were reprinted in Economic Essays’ (ODNB).
