From the library of the Nobel Prize winning American economist Robert Fogel (1926-2013), with his ownership inscription dated ‘Nov., 1969’ in blue ink to the front free endpaper. Fogel was awarded the 1993 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences “for having renewed research in economic history by applying economic theory and quantitative methods in order to explain economic and institutional change.”
The first American edition of this collection of essays by the Canadian economist Harry G. Johnson, originally published in the UK by George Allen and Unwin earlier in the same year.
