Inscribed by the author: “Kath from J.M.B. May 1932”. He wrote this little skit for a comedian in 1891, but it was never performed or published, and Barrie himself didn’t keep a copy. He was able, in the 1930s, to get a copy of it from the Lord Chamberlain’s office, to whom it had been sent for licensing, and produced a few copies in typescript for friends. Cynthia Asquith was given one, and this is probably Kathleen Scott’s copy. Kathleen was the widow of Scott of the Antarctic. Barrie was extremely fond of her son Peter, and she ended up living in Barrie’s wonderful home in Bayswater. A near fine copy.
