PRIESTLEY (J.B.)
An Inspector Calls. A Play in Three Acts.
First edition.
As the titular Inspector proclaims, “We don’t live alone. We are members of one body.” Priestly’s play has a message of social responsibility that runs through it. First performed in the Soviet Union in 1945, it had its London premier the following year at the New Theatre, and continues to be regularly produced to the present day.
A very good copy, with chips and wear to the extremities of the jacket, some soiling to the rear panel, spine panel age toned. Booksellers ticket to front pastedown, and neat contemporary signature to front free endpaper.
