KIPLING (Rudyard).
The Jungle Book. [with:] The Second Jungle Book.
A near fine set of these great classics of English children’s fiction, mostly composed when the author lived in Vermont, remembering his time in India as a young man, probably originally composed to entertain his young daughter Josephine, who sadly died young of pneumonia in 1899.
The Jungle Book with W.H. Smith blindstamp to front free endpaper, only the slightest hint of faint spotting to outer leaves, contents otherwise generally clean, gentle lean to text block, minimal rubbing to tips of spine, gilt decoration to front cover slightly rubbed. The Second Jungle Book with spotting to outer leaves and light shelf wear to extremities. Both volumes otherwise in excellent order, near fine and notably bright.
