NIHON MINGEI KYOKAI & SERIZAWA (Keisuke)
Kogei no.76 [Craft issue 76].

A special issue of Kogei (Craft) magazine, dedicated to the work of Keisuke Serizawa.

This issue (no.76 in the series) has a particular focus on Serizawa’s edition of Don Quixote, which he had made in the previous year. The binding of the issue is a reference to the Don Quixote – the patten on the paper is the same as the cloth case which original book was issued in. The title is also lacquered onto paper like the original, this time masterfully done by Suzuki Shigeo (1914-2003), who contributed to many covers of Kogei. Inside, there are photographs of the Don Quixote as well as dedicated essays on how Serizawa made the book and his work more generally.
