Graham, a British botanist, prepared this work for the use of students at and private residents in the Indian central provinces. Nagpur is the second capital and the third largest city of the Indian state of Masharashtra. In the preface he states that it is “a ready means of identifying some of the common plants and weeds of cultivation … [it] is intended for field work only …” 309 plates are listed, each with a brief description.
