The Jubilee edition consisted of 1000 numbered copies signed by Maugham (this being copy #856), this copy additionally inscribed and signed by Maugham on the front free endpaper, “For Reginald Addye-Scott / a very considerable man / this first novel in a new / dress by / W. Somerset Maugham.” Also included is most of a large envelope, addressed in Maugham’s hand to the same person (in Herne Bay, Kent, Angleterre) - probably the envelope in which Maugham sent the book.
A fine copy, with a fine dust jacket (made of the same paper as was used to bind the volume) housed in a leather morocco-backed clamshell case.
