Included are two loose letters, one an autograph letter from Roger Machell, editor at Hamish Hamilton, to a ‘Mrs. Phillips’ regarding an error in the first impression of this book, which erroneously changed the first name of the composer Alan Bush for ‘Geoffrey’. The second typed letter informs Mrs Phillips that Sir Adrian Boult has confirmed that the text is in error and continues ‘How the ‘Geoffrey’ got in is a complete mystery’. Some slight staining to the bottom edge of the text-block.
