Travels in North America, by the pioneer radio and television producer, inscribed “To my dear book-binding son-in-law, Denis from his affectionate father-in-law Lance. 14 Mar 59”. Denis Burroughs (1926-87) was married to Lance’s daughter Victoria. The biography on the dust jacket has one correction in what appears to be the author’s hand, and the binding, which features one of those sightseeing binoculars so loved by American tourists, is presumably by the recipient. The printed dedication is to the recently dead Paul Nash “who suggested my writing a book about North America after having seen my photographs.” An excellent copy.
