Robert Peary (1856-1920) was an avid American explorer of the Artic, leading many expeditions there. He credited with leading the first expedition to reach the North Pole in 1909. His claim of having reached the North Pole is now widely debated; some believe, given evidence in his journals, that he was a few miles away due to navigational errors. The present work is an account of that voyage to the North Pole.
