A sermon preached against the Mexican-American War in general as well as the terms of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago (in which Mexico ceded 55 percent of its territory to the USA). Parker also advocates against the idea that these new territories should be slave states. Theodore Parker (1810-1860) was an American abolitionist and minister of the Unitarian Church.
