With the publisher’s label pasted to the upper wrapper stating: “To meet the increased cost of binding and overhead charges, the price of Heinemann’s paper-covered plays is temporarily raised from 1/6 to 2/6”. The play was issued simultaneously in red cloth and wrappers as above. The play opened at the Comedy Theatre on Thursday, September 30th., 1909 and was a success in both London and New York; it was made into a film in 1917. Rothschild 75; Toole Stott A 19.
