DOBB (Maurice).
Soviet Economy and the War.
Taking as his departure the resistance of the Red Army to the Nazi’s blitzkreig, the Cambridge Marxist economist Maurice Dobb here recounts the economic progress made by the Soviet Union over the preceding years. For Dobb, this represented an attempt to correct the record in the West, which had viewed the Soviets’ First Five-Year Plan with ardent scepticism.
