Interesting track chart, apparently for a Royal Naval fleet. Departing Lizard Point - a common jumping off point for vessels leaving the Channel as a known location for reckoning position on the journey - the fleet arriving off Cape Finisterre on 12 April, continuing south past Porto Santo and Madera to a point west of Tenerriffe on 24 April, turning north-westward to the Azores, arriving on 29th April and departing on 2nd May, returning to the Spanish coast between Cape Finisterre and Cape Ortegal where the track ends. Delicately drawn vignettes of the ships appear against the fleet’s positions on 12th and 24th April - onthe first four ships, on the second eight.

Neither the year of this cruise, nor its participants have been identified, but it presumably relates to the Napoleonic War.
