41 original gelatin silver photographs mounted on album leaves, most photographs 200mm by 150mm. Oblong 4to. Red clay cloth with back embossed decoration and title, gilt spine, inner upper and lower joints split. One photograph loose and with dedication verso, another blank leaf loose, album paper fragile. All photographs with a pencil caption in a later hand, 1880.

One photograph by E. Wheeler and Son, Christchurch. Photographs are mostly of New Zealand landscapes, including photographs of Dunedin (including a street view of Prince Street), Aoraki/ Mount Cook and the Hooker Glacier, Halfway Bay and One Mile Creek on Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown, Arrowtown, a logging operation in Inglewood and the Pink Terrace (which disappeared in the 1886 eruption of Mount Tarawera), among other locations. The last two photographs are of Melbourne, Australia, including a street view of Collins Street.
