[STEWART (Sir William Drummond)].
Altowan; Or incidents of Life and Adventure in the Rocky Mountains.
WITH IMPORTANT ILLUSTRATIONS
This is a fictionalised account of the western travels of a titled Scottish gentleman. Drummond Stewart spent five years roughing it in the western United States and his is a sparkling tale of adventures whilst living with the Native Americans there.
It was during his fifth trip that he traveled with the young artist A.J. Miller, whom Stewart employed to depict the Natives in their habitat. These pictures are of an extreme importance, and today highly prized.
