Two scarce works in very good condition. Frobenius was an important German ethnographer and archeologist. Over thirty years he led twelve trips to Africa and pioneered the cultural-historical approach to ethnography. The Atlas was projected as the first part of a larger work providing a comprehensive overview of African cultural morphology. Although the title page of Das Sterbende Afrika states this is the “erste band”, no further volumes were published.
