“Drawing heavily from a plan of economic reform set out by C.A. de Calonne and the Comte de Vergennes, Le Clerc gives an analysis of the economy and resources of France and Russia. The work followed publication of his Histoire de la Russie (6 vols; 1783-94), and was dedicated to Louis XVI.”

The sequence of charts at the rear comprise a composite sheet of the environs of Constantinople, the Sea of Marmora and the Black Sea, a two sheet chart of the Mediterranean and charts of Crete and of the Peloponnese.
