A pleasant, chatty, headlong letter, to the writer William Hepworth Dixon, who had published a history of the Tower of London, asking if he can arrange privileged access to the Tower for Frith’s sister who is “staying here for a short time … she thinks you could get her into every hole & corner of it - she has just said she wants to go where most people don’t go & my wife says I am to tell you how rude I have been in not replying to your kind invitation & she likes your novel tremendously & she ought to be a judge if experience of such novels will make her one.”
