Looking on sternly at scenes of Catholic worship, an auto da fé and the burning of a church the Duke wearing a ministerial gown over his uniform holds a placard which reads, “Wanted immediately 1000 Image Makers - Portuguese Artist will be preferred - Apply the Secretary of the Turncoat Office, Whitehall.” Commenting on Wellington’s shift of position over Catholic Emancipation.
