This edition contains the same text as the folio Barlaeus with the addition of four articles by Piso on the Climate, water, and country in Brazil, the arundine sugars, forest honey and Manihoca root of Brazil.

“This German translation is harder to find than the second edition in Latin, which was issued by the same printer. It contains an account of Nassau’s life after his departure from Brazil which does not appear in the other editions” (Borba de Moraes).
