Albumen carte-de-visite, measuring 58 by 92mm. Card a little bowed, otherwise very good. Paris, E. Appert, 1870.
An attractive carte-de-visite of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (1831-1896). Numerous CDVs of the Shah circulated around Europe after his tour of the continent in 1873. He was the first Iranian ruler to complete such a trip and would no doubt have been delighted to see such images as he was a practicing photographer and adored the medium.
