An exceptionally good copy, with a slight chip to the head of the spine of the jacket, otherwise very clean and unworn. With a “for review” slip citing the date of publication. A clerical hand has noted at the head of the slip “8 novels for Francis Iles for Post.” The novelist Anthony Berkeley Cox, under his pseudonym Francis Iles, was presumably being sent this and seven others for review.
