A rare and large de-luxe album providing a detailed photographic overview of each of the provinces. The publishing house sent a group of four Chinese photographers to record natural scenery, ancient and new architecture, urban street scenes and minority people. The text explains that this is a re-edited and enlarged version of a book that Liang You publishers had printed in 1930 under the English title: ‘Living China: A Pictorial Record’ in a similar format. The folding charts at the end provide statistical information on the size of the population, military matters, transport, shipping, communications, education, agriculture and industry. Rare in the attractive decorated dust-wrapper.
