A fascinating study of a small village just north of Peking. Ching Ho (Qinghe) was a relatively new settlement located on the Qinghe river that supplies the lakes of the Summer Palace as well as the moat of the walled capital. This study which was funded by the Rockefeller Fund analyses the population, economic organisation, politics, education, and religion of the area.
