Despite the inference in the title, this is the First Edition, edited by Samuel Patrick, with maps by John Senex. The frontispiece engraving of a sphere is an advertisement for Senex’s globe- and mapmaking business, which suggests he was the retailer of this copy.

Shirley refers to this edition of the Geographia Antiqua as the first to contain maps. The atlas was both popular and successful, and was much reprinted.
