First published in 1867 in anticipation of the Universities Mission operating from the capital, Vuga. Permission was denied by Chief Kimweri, though they were able to settle in the Magila district. This guide includes notes on pronunciation, an extensive vocabulary, grammar rules, and sample conversations.
Rare. OCLC locates four copies at SOAS, Oxford, Cape Town, and another in Germany. (For the first edition it lists about 20 holdings.)
