Inscribed on the half-title to Billie Whitelaw, by fellow actor and Becketian, Barry McGovern: “Embers - January 1988[9] - For Billie - with love and admiration, Barry x”.
An important and iconic association between actors famous for their performance of Beckett. First produced by the BBC in 1959, Whitelaw played Ada and McGovern played Henry in a 1989 production of Beckett’s radio play Embers, recorded as part of the New York festival of Beckett’s plays for radio. The production won the New York International Radio Festival Gold Medal. An excellent copy in a slightly nicked dust jacket.
