Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to his fellow Scottish writer Christopher Murray Grieve: ‘C. M. Grieve, with eternal gratitude, John Buchan’ and dated 1926, the month sadly incomprehensible. Buchan had included only one poem by Grieves in his anthology on Scottish poets. Covers slightly marked and the page edges somewhat spotted. Light staining to the half-title and upper corner of the title page, spotting to edges, contents otherwise generally clean, light wear to extremities, slight lean to spine, otherwise an acceptable copy with a lovely association.
