A fine copy, inscribed on the title page “To David, with thanks & best wishes. Alan 10/4/13”. Judd is the pseudonym of Alan Petty, described by some as “former soldier and diplomat” and by others as “Former MI6 agent” - Tim Cornwell used the former job description in A Private Spy, where he prints a moving late letter from Cornwell, and describes how Judd had been the messenger for Colin McColl’s 1995 invitation to Cornwell to return to MI6 and address them: Cornwell wrote “It’s very hard to explain what it meant to me, the invitation to the office. I hadn’t realised, until it happened, that it cd mean so much.”
