Defending the Undefendable.

The work of a provocative polemicist and anarcho-capitalist, Walter Block (b. 1941), Defending the Undefendable presents a number of extreme case studies including ‘The Employer of Child Labour’, ‘The Male Chauvinist Pig’, and ‘The Pimp’ in an attempt to “demonstrate their considerable economic and social merit” (dust jacket blurb).

At its core, this is an extreme attempt to rationalise the free market position. “Popular fallacies in economics frequently express themselves in unfounded prejudices against other occupations, and in showing the falsity of these stereotypes you are doing a real service, although you will not make yourself more popular with the majority” (von Hayek in the Commentary).
