From the Cape of Good Hope Across the Zambesi to the Lake Regions of Central Africa. Second edition. 2 vols. Folding map, photograph of the author and 21 plates with numerous illustrations in the text. 8vo. A very good copy in later half calf, gilt. xviii, 316; x, 318p. London, 1887.
The above is an enthralling account of the author’s journey from Cape Town through the Transvaal, Matabeleland and Mashonaland to the Livingstonia Mission on the south shore of Lake Nyassa, which he found deserted. Kerr gives a good account of his hunting exploits but also includes his observations on the mineral possibilities of the territories visited.
