This very interesting album seem to have been compiled by an Officer of the Mounted Company of the 58th Foot. One person crops up in all the groups which include those serving with Barrow’s Mounted Infantry and that is Lieut. later Captain Collinson. There is an interesting group of the officers stationed in Roorke’s Drift in 1884 which shows Lieut. Lucy with a tennis racket.

The 58th were a significant part of the forces occupying Majuba Hill and suffered many casualties.
