[MANNEQUINS] & PIERRE IMANS
Femmes d'Aujoud'hui par Pierre Imans Statuaire Ceroplaste

A promotional pamphlet from the renowned maker of hyper-realistic wax mannequins, Pierre Imans.

Imans was a Dutch sculptor who settled in Brussels and set up his eponymous mannequin business in 1896. These were exhibited at numerous trade fairs and became popular among Parisian boutiques. The present pamphlet showcases a new female model, the ‘Isadora,’ which has has cleverly concealable joints. The type, layout and styling of the model are wonderfully evocative of the early 1920s, when this pamphlet was made.
