GUINNESS (Bryan).
The Fragrant Concubine. A Tragedy.
Wrappers slightly grubby, and minor wear to edges, but still a presentable copy, with a contemporary presentation inscription on the title page to his publisher at Putnam “For Mr. Constant Huntingdon with best wishes for Christmas and the New Year from Bryan Guinness Dec 1937.”
OCLC records copies at Texas (Evelyn Waugh’s copy), North Western, SUNY, University of Kansas and the Bodleian. Not found in the British Library catalogue.
The play ran successfully the following year in the West End. This has all the makings of a private edition for friends.
