A Group of interesting Ephemera from the Expo '70

Held in Suita, Osaka, Expo ’70 was the first World Exposition to be held in Asia, running from March 15th until September 13th under the theme of ‘Progress and Harmony for Mankind’. Seventy seven countries attended the event which, within sixth months, attracted over 64 million visitors. Like the Summer Olympics of 1964, Expo ’70 served to demonstrate the rapid development Japan underwent in the 1960s. The following collection of ephemera provides an fascinating insight into the nature of the Expo. Of particular note is a guidebook from the Swiss Tourist Board in which is included an LP entitled - ‘An ear full of Switzerland - A musical introduction’, a beautifully illustrated guide to the ‘Mitsubishi Future building’, and an invitation to the fashion show and concert held at the concert hall of the Soviet Pavillion, from the Commissioner General of the USSR Section, B. A. Borisov. Extremely Rare.
