PLANT (Samuel Cornell). & EVEREST (R. G.)
Handbook for the guidance of shipmasters on the Ichang-Chungking section of the Yangtze River.

Intended as a guide for shipmasters navigating the Upper Yangtze between Ichang and Chungking, a section that is particularly difficult and dangerous to navigate. Captain S.C. Plant (1866-1921) was river inspector for the Chinese Maritime Customs and achieved fame for being the first to take a merchant steamer through these choppy waters. He died in 1921 and the book was reissued in 1932 by R.G. Everest due to steady demand and new developments along the Ichang-Chungking section. Only 3 copies in OCLC.
