Etching with colouring by hand (252 x 360mm). Some slight marking in a couple of places and a small messy repair to the right-hand side of the sheet; but otherwise a good impression with strong colour; neatly window-mounted into a sheet of laid paper. London: by John Fairburn, August 30, 1803.
Very Rare. Bodley appear to have a reversed copy of this print but we have been unable to locate any other examples. A similar design though does feature on a number of pieces of pottery from this period (see British Museum catalogue for a Staffordshire-ware mug). This is the impression offered in the Latta sale (1913).
A stark print showing a muscular John Bull beating up Napoleon while in the background an effigy of Napoleon is hung from a gallows.
