First edition. 8vo. Original blue paper-covered boards with parchment spine. London, William Heinemann, 1905.
This copy is in the second of the three bindings employed - identical to the first except that that the print on the spine is smaller (with the word “blessed” measuring just under one inch across); there is also a third binding, with the spine in white cloth rather than in parchment. this copy is in very good condition, the parchment spine somewhat darkened; there is also minor edge wear to the delicate paper-covered board. The front endpaper is inscribed by the author to a New York art gallery owner, “For R. Kirk Askew from W.S. Maugham Sep 6 1923.”
