Very slight wear to the binding edges, the original tissue jacket somewhat decayed, but an excellent copy in the very rare special binding by Bain, with a note of provenance dated 1985 from the widow of Michael S. Howard, the head of Jonathan Cape “I confirm that this was his personal copy of The Letters of TE Lawrence, edited by David Garnett, and is one of two, possibly three, bound in this way.”
