STEVENSON (Robert Louis).
A Lodging for the Night.
Number 13 of 100 copies printed on Japon Vellum by Elbert Green Hubbard. The Roycrofters community was founded by Hubbard in 1895, after he was inspired by William Morris and The Kelmscott Press. Initially a fine bindery, the community grew to include other artisans stirred by the Arts & Crafts movement, such as metal workers and furniture makers. The community went into decline after Hubbard and his wife died in the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915.
Originally published as a story in the New Arabian Nights in 1882. A fine and attractive copy.
