An attractive late 19th century rendition of the Pacific. Each island colour coded to show US, French, British, German and Dutch colonisation. Projected and actual submarine cables are also shown. With soundings, reefs, volcanoes, currents and old nomenclature. Tooley dates it c. 1901, but certainly based on earlier versions.
