This well arranged Letter book, is carefully indexed so that a precis of each letter’s content is indexed under the various recipients. Commander in Chief, Military Secretary, Adjutant General, Secretary of State Secretary at War, Treasury, Chaplain General, Ordnance, and Miscellaneous.

Warde’s command appears to have been relatively free of noteworthy events, but this book does contain his detailed report during a tour of the Islands and establishments under his control ie Berbice, Demerara, Tobago, Trinidad St. Vincent and St. Lucia. Of continuing correspondence is the mutinous state of the naval transport “Dasher”, whose crew refused to go to sea, not having been paid their agreed wages. The matter became a somewhat heated matter of disciplinary jurisdiction.
