Manuscript Letter, Signed “Charles Whittingham and Co.”
A detailed estimate, Signed “Charles Whittingham and Co.”, produced for George Bell and Sons, for printing an edition of Puckle’s Club, first published in 1711, and to be of 250 copies. The edition was seemingly not done, but the document is an interesting insight into both printing history and the boom in facsimile editions that T.J. Wise rode to destruction. Rather distressed at margins.
